I offer manuscript consultation for advanced graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and early-career faculty working in postcolonial studies, African literary studies, queer and trans theory, and Global South feminisms. This is not a copyediting service — it is a scholarly conversation. Drawing on my experience as a published author, ACLS fellow, and teacher of research and writing at the graduate and undergraduate level, I read your work as a colleague and offer substantive feedback on argument, framing, field positioning, and the conventions of scholarly publication. What I Offer
Full Manuscript Review
A comprehensive read of a complete dissertation chapter, journal article, or book chapter, with written feedback on argument, structure, evidence, and field positioning. Includes one follow-up conversation.
Book Proposal Development
Guidance on framing your dissertation or research project as a book manuscript for academic press submission. Includes review of the project overview, chapter summaries, and positioning within the field.
Journal Article Consultation
Targeted feedback on a journal article in preparation for submission, including assessment of argument, contribution to the field, and fit with target journals.
Chapter or Section Consultation
A focused read of a single chapter or section where you need a second set of eyes on a specific problem — an argument that isn't landing, a theoretical framework that needs tightening, or a section that isn't working.
Pre-Submission Review
A final read of a polished manuscript before journal or press submission, focused on identifying any remaining issues with framing, argument, or field conventions.
